Imagine you hold in your hands a letter. It is addressed from Jesus to you. He begins with a few words that cover general truths that apply to everyone. Then, just where he begins to speak specifically to you, the letter is torn, and the last piece is missing.
You hold the first half of the letter, the Bible. But all that Jesus wanted to tell you about your individual gifts, talents, purpose, and "the good works he prepared in advance for you to do"...all that is missing.
Sadly this is the reality of many Christians today. The old, tired advice to just "pray and read your Bible" does not solve this problem. It's a respectable start...but it cannot take us to the promised land.
In John 5:39-40, Jesus told the Pharisees and teachers of the law, "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life."
We must come to Jesus to have life. A personal relationship with him means more than belief or intellectual assent.
My first priority is to listen deeply without judgement.
Only then can I help you find the right path forward.
After leaving academia, I made a living in the commodities and futures markets. I managed my own money with massive "skin in the game" every single day.
Full-time trading was lucrative...AND STRESSFUL! I learned to make good decisions under pressure. This forced me to get in touch with my intuition and emotions, as well as the logical process that had always served me well. After trading for 7 years I felt ready to face anything.
Turns out that feeling was naive. After a miscarriage and nervous breakdown that nearly led to my wife's death, I realized I was still missing something essential.
Long story short, I started seeking Jesus' presence every single day. And he responded, powerfully. Touching him shifted all my goals, plans, and ambitions in life. (The full story is in my book.)
I want that for you too. I don't give you the "right" answer for your situation. I coach you to get in touch with who you are at the deepest level, mind, body, heart...and spirit. Your spirit is essential, because it connects you to divine guidance, to the Holy Spirit.
